Adelina Iftene is an interdisciplinary researcher focusing on the area of prison law. Her biggest project to date, looking into the aging of the federal prison population and its legal consequences, is currently under publication, as a monograph, with University of Toronto Press. Her other research includes issues surrounding the sentencing of older individuals and historic crimes, reform of parole boards in Canada, and the identification of the civil legal needs of prisoners. Adelina has earned an L.L.B. in Romania, an L.L.M at Queen's University and a Ph.D. in law from Queen's University. Adelina teaches Evidence and Criminal Law at the Schulich School of Law.
